There is one way to use SEO that no one could have problems with, and that’s using the official channels to submit your site. The major search engines have official submission forms that you can use to make sure that the search engines know about your site. Because it can take a few weeks or more to get the ball running this way, you really need to have patience with this process. Should you get into trouble over issues involving duplicated content with a different website, these can be a helpful resource. Plus, it is just one more link to your site: you could always use more links, right?
I have worked with clients that want to optimize for their names, for example, Dr. Kim, because they know that it is a highly searched term. When you put links up on your site, whether they are internal links or outbound links, make sure that the link text contains the keyword phrase that you have chosen for your site. This helps the search engines figure out which sites relate to which links and it simply reads better than inserting a “Click Here!” in the middle of a paragraph. When you include plenty of links in your site that are blended in, your readers will appreciate the ability to click on them to get more information about what they are reading about. Easily turning off readers, “Click Here!” is too much of a hard nosed sales approach. There are so many rules and regulations to search engine optimization that figuring out what you are allowed to do and what you are not allowed to do can seem like an impossible task. It doesn’t help at all that it’s a constantly changing thing, either. However, if you just take the time to figure out the basics and stick to them, you can make consistently reliable articles and web pages. Before long you could find yourself on the front pages of Google!

And finding ways to move in that direction to get more targeted web traffic could not be a hotter topic.

That simply means that more and more of us online have come to realize that we need to get our BEST KEYWORDS to those places that are going to get them featured WITH LINKS TO OUR SITES. When web 2.0 was brought to bear, that created an instant way to drop our content featuring those keywords into places that Google loves…problem is, most people still do not fully understand that game.

And they (you???) need to.

Let’s say you are an art dealer in San Antonio. Obviously, simple keyword research will tell you that “art dealer San Antonio” is one of your best keywords…BUT WHAT DO YOU DO KNOWING THAT?

Sure, if you had read this before your site was built, you would have optimized a page for that keyword. But what do you do if you don’t feel like waiting the several months for that to happen? How do you take your best, most powerful keywords and have them working for you in days?

1) Article Marketing

Article marketing is still one of the best ways to get the best visibility, especially at those article sites that Google adores most. I have found that the biggest problem with article marketing is that people simply do not know how to write to “create the click.”

2) Video Marketing

When Google bought YouTube for $2.3 Bill, it told the world that video was loved. Creating videos that feature your keywords is an instant way to get traffic. The downside being the standard “in my den” video that people find no credibility in.

3) Twitter

A traffic giant…especially in the right hands. But is Twitter traffic ready to buy from you? No. But they will, if you “content them up.”

It DOES NOT MATTER what you are selling, if you want targeted web traffic you start by finding those keywords in your business THAT PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING FOR…and then you go after those with a never give up attitude by putting them into the best properties on the web. Web 2.0 properties.

Why so much emphasis on the search engines? Because 81% of all sales start with a Google search!

And if you want to be in that consideration list, you’d better be on Google page #1 for your best keywords.

That’s why learning how to get more targeted web traffic is so monumentally important and why it can be had if you reach out and ask to know how.

The online game is WON by those that create a massive amount of great content and then load that content with long tail keywords. Period. Do this and you will dominate.

Real Joint Venture Partnership Deals

It seems with all the ramped internet marketing launches and social networking, traditional joint venture partnerships are getting thrown by the waste side. What is it about the internet, today, that causes so many people to throw away good relationships. Greed and the desire to acquire internet riches is truly taking its toll on so many entrepreneurs.

If you are an independent, seasoned or, young entrepreneur please read this post in its entirety. I’m going to take you through some simple thoughts and experiences that will allow you to create successful joint venture partners.

First step…

Decide Who Your Ideal JV Is

It amazes me how many business owners will spend a year or so creating a new product or, hours communicating their message on Twitter. How about those who spend eight hours on You Tube? It’s amazing. Yet, entrepreneurs today seem to spend less time approaching potential Joint Venture Partners than they do eating their breakfast. I swear, if I was their business consultant I’d slap them with a wet noodle until they curl up in the fetal position sucking their thumb, crying for mommy.

In order to find the appropriate JV partner for your direct sales strategy, you must first take the time to look for the right, qualified Joint venture partner for your deal. Start by creating a wish list. It’s simple. Go to Google.com and type in the name of the number one person in your industry. Don’t worry whether you will actually find a way to communicate with that person, this is simply a way to get you motivated to look.

Now look at the listings in Google that appear in the top ten, on the first page. Most of those listings are going to be blogs, articles, videos and more posted by individuals within the same industry as you. I’m truly not concerned with landing a JV deal for my direct sales strategy with the top leader in my industry (although DA’YAMN that’d be nice). I’m simply looking for other authority figures in my industry.

JV Partner with Your Competition

I know it sounds screwy, but your competition is your best JV in the direct sales industry. Why? Simply because they are always looking for something new to sell to their clients, customers or subscribers. It’s not easy to continuously find high converting products that contribute value to our lists. But, it is much easier if someone else approaches us with a product that will provide a valid solution for our customers.

The thing is, many entrepreneurs will email those people and write, “Hey there Joe, Bob Yeager here and I was just looking at your website. I just created a new product that I know you could easily sell to your list and I’ll split the profits with you 50/50.”

BZZZZZ… WRONG APPROACH.

Here’s my approach to creating “Co-Opetition” with JVs for my Direct Sales Strategy.

“Hi there Joe

Bob Yeager here, founder of The World Entrepreneur Success Training Program. As I was teaching a lesson to my students, I came across your site. I was pretty impressed by the SEO that’s been done. I did notice a few things that I’d change to make it a bit better and then I had an idea.

Alright, did you notice what I did. First off, I complemented him on his site but also pointed out there were a few things that could be done to make it better. Instead of using the approach of trying to sell him my firm’s services, I simply offered a free critique with a strategy that he could implement… at NO cost. (FAVOR #1)

Then, I implied that he is an expert. How did I do that? I asked him to do a video interview with me. There is nothing else in this world that internet marketers and sales people like to do more than talk about what they are good at! Then, I said I would even give him a copy of the video for his subscribers and implied the value it would generate for his list and my students.

How many times did I mention that “we could make a ton of money”, or, “I have a new product that would be a good fit for your list?”

That’s right… ZERO.

When approaching JV Partners for a direct sales strategy, the strategy starts before you ever communicate with them. First it’s a matter of mapping out who your potential Jvs are. Then, simply offer to lend a hand with something that would create value for them. Then, over deliver and stack the value. Then, offer something that would contribute value to their customers… with no strings attached.

Where’s the JV for My Direct Sales Strategy?

It’s simple really. During the course of planning the video interview, when Joe calls, ask him more about his business and the history of his company. This will immediately tell you more about the trends in his business. Then, ask him if the business is tough to run or, is their plenty of time for family life. This doesn’t come across as prying, remember you are getting ready to record an interview with this guy, it will simply come across as great content for the interview.

Then, record the interview. You could use oovoo.com or, if you are in the neighborhood, record it live. You could even offer to do a live teleseminar or webinar. The better the experience, the better the interview is going to be. Once you are through recording, give Joe a definite date that the recording will be available (better sooner than later).

You will now be approaching your third point of contact. Send Joe the video download information. Then, tell Joe that you’d like to give him a call because he mentioned something that peaked your interest. When you get on another call with Joe, ask about his new product or service and if he has launch or affiliate campaign planned in the near future.

Obviously he is going to say yes or ask if you are interested in promoting. Say yes and I’m working on something as well that may prove to be an awesome reciprecol mailing. Do you think Joe is going to say NO to mailing something to his list for you… after you work on HIS launch with him?

There is nothing like self-implied obligation to create a great JV for your direct sales strategy. Look, it’s not rocket science, it’s all about contributing as much value to a potential JV partner as you would like for them to contribute to you. Also, think about what a great relationship you have built and how Joe is going to speak about you to others in your industry.

SEO Meta Tag Analyzer

There are a lot of tools out there claiming to analyze the validity and relevancy of Meta Tags for SEO optimization, which would allow you to rank better in the search engines. Before you go spending your money on these tools, be sure to read this article in its entirety.

It used to be that you could use Oracle or Google’s Keyword Tool, perhaps even Word Tracker to do proper SEO Meta Tag Analyzation, simply by searching the relevancy of your keyword terms. Now, with Google’s heightened algorythmic changes, it become increasingly difficult. With that said, SEO meta tag analyzer tools become obsolete almost immediately after they hit the market.

Even some of the top sites that rank very high in the Google SERPs, that sell these tools, warn that their tools may not be working properly because of changes that Google has made, yet they continue to sell these tools. In this article I am going to show you a very quick way to figure out if you are using the proper meta tags, tell you how irrelevant keyword density is, show you how to improve your search engine ranking and tell you exactly what the search engine spiders are looking for… PHEW, that’s a lot of stuff!

Search Engine Ranking

Search Engine Ranking is a commonly misused term and I’m not going to bore you with the text book definition, because then you would see I do not have enough room on this blog to record it properly. But to sum it up, your SERP depends on a few factors:

1. Inbound and outbound link relevancy: that simply means; are you linking to sites that talk about the same stuff as you and are they doing the same, as well as, does the site that is linking to you rank high?

2. Are your meta keywords listed in the order of relevancy to one another as well as, is your meta description placing those keywords in the same order that you have them listed? This is tricky so I will give you an example.

Title: Pet Supplies for Dog Trainers

Keywords: dog training supplies, dog training collars, dog shock collars

Description: Pet supplies for dog trainers are not easy to find when dog
training supplies are in low demand. Dog training collars like shock collars
are increasingly becoming obsolete, find out why.

Notice that the title starts broad for supplies for dog trainers, yet the title is targeted as to the type of pet supplies. Then, I went from dog training supplies, to a more defined type such as dog collars. To break it down to a more defined type of collar, I suggest “dog shock collars”. Then, when I typed the description, all of the keywords, including the title, were listed in the same order of relevancy and sub categories. That is the right way!

That brings us to:

3. Always be sure that your meta keywords, description and title, as well as your H tags in body content, follow the same seed category to targeted category as I have done in the example above. This is more important than you could possibly know. Google is all about relevancy and since they own over 59% of the search engine market share, it would be wise to work along with their guidelines.

The next question I am always asked is, “Bob, how far do I need to go with keyword density in my content?

Keyword Density

Keyword density is something that every SEO pro seems to put a lot of focus on and there has been a lot of testing done on keyword density as well. Guess what? It’s virtually irrelevant. As long as your keywords show up once or twice throughout your content, you should be fine. You definitely do not want to list all of your keywords back to back in your content and you really don’t want more than two or three keywords in any body of content.

Many people will claim that they can optimize your content for keyword density and that their H tags and meta information will help you to climb to the top of the search engines. Well, Google has already showed us, through extensive testing, that keyword density is irrelevant and that you can suggest the order of significance of your keywords using H tags, but they are going to pick and chose what they think is the most relevant dependent on what the searcher searches for.

I almost forgot. The whole rumor about “Google uses your meta description under your listing in the search engine?” BZZZZ… wrong. Google crawls your content and picks an excerpt of what it thinks is the most relevant. If it happens to be your meta description then so be it, but it is usually unlikely that it will. This brings us to our next topic:

Search Engine Spiders

Funny little creatures these Search Engine Spiders. They are rightfully named, because these little guys go out to your sight page source file and look at virtually every word, every line of every paragraph, including your links, where those links go, how they rank, what links are coming back to you and so on, and so on.

Guess what? If you are an SEO pro and you are doing your job, who cares about search engine spiders?! If you are a website or blog owner and you are following the above mentioned rules or you are writing great content, or even have a top level SEO working on your sites… then don’t worry about it. Sometimes it’s not important to know how something works, just know that it is working to benefit you and the readers who are searching for your keyword phrases.

If you have all of your ducks in a row, those darned ole’ search engine spiders will make sure that you show up in the SERPS.

Search engine optimization and meta tags don’t need to be analyzed by everyone who has a website on the internet. Simply write unique, quality content that holds true and relevant to your keywords and keyword phrases and don’t use any duplicate content and you’ll find that one of the least difficult things to do online is ranking in the search engines.

One of the most difficult things to do is know which keywords and keyword phrases to have your content SEO optimized and SEO meta tag your site for. Duplicate Content on the Internet

I get a lot of questions asking about issues with getting the Google Slap for duplicate content. Look, if you’d like to be sure that your content is completely original, then pay close attention to how I show you how to have a conversation with yourself to be sure that you are not posting duplicate content on your site.

Step 1: Defining What is Duplicate Content?

Duplicate content is content that is exactly identical to content that can be found on another web page, whether it is on your web pages or somebody else’s web pages.

Also, duplicate content can be found within the template of your site. Here’s what I mean. If you have text links, anchor text or, alternative text in images on the template of your site then you must be sure that you have at least 35 more keywords within your body content of your site. We want to make sure you have more unique content on your page than you have within the template of your site.

Think about this: Site A has three paragraphs of text on the body of their home page. Also, within the template of their site, they have 20 keywords within all of the navigation and links and such. That same page sticks to a 5% keyword density on the body content, meaning if there is 500 words in the body, 5% of those words are keywords. So, then we find that page on the first page of Google one day and the following day it is gone.

What happened? Why did this page get removed? More than likely, it’s because there are more keywords or words in general within the template, that Google says, “These 20 words that you have on this template shows up on every page of your site, therefore, your site is scattered with duplicate content.

Now we move on to site B. Site B also has 20 keywords throughout the template, but the body content on their home page has 1500 words and a 5% keyword density. Now, there is more unique body content to overpower the content that is within the template. Realisticly, if you were to add three or four new paragraphs of original content to each of your site pages, there is a good chance that you will rank higher in the search results.

Let’s move on to our next step.

Having a Conversation to Promote Unique Web Page Content

Nine times out of ten, I will guarantee you that the conversation I have with one of my friends is going to be 100% unique compared to the conversation that YOU have with your friends. Why? Simply because I am different than you and you are different than me. We have different thoughts, we have different ideas and we talk about different topics. So, imagine if I took my conversation and turned it into a blog post. Let’s imagine that a 20 minute conversation turned out to have over 30 thousand words.

I could take that hypothetically transcribed conversation and break those 30 thousand words down into 20 unique 1500 hundred word articles or blog posts. Isn’t it safe to assume that no other person in my industry will have a post identicle to mine? Of course it is! So, when you are writing your content, I suggest creating a mock conversation. Here’s how it works.

Designing Unique Content that is Accepted by the Search Engines

First, lets pretend that we have friends, even though we are closet computer geeks that sit around writing articles about how to keep from writing and posting duplicate content. Let’s, for a moment, pretend that our friend Roy has come to us and asked, “How can I get my blog to generate more traffic?” Well, many of us can give Roy quite a few tips, so I want to play this conversation out in my head. Without stating Roy’s name, I want to answer some questions that I believe Roy would ask and throughout my article I am going to answer these questions. Here’s an example of my conversation with “Roy”.

What plug-ins do you have in your blog?

I don’t know what plugins are and I’m not really certain that I have any. Well, then you should probably consider getting, at least, an All In One SEO Plugin, a Sociable Plug-in, the Max Blog Press Plug-in and a Viral Tweets Plugin. That would be a great start and it would certainly begin to help with on site SEO and social media traffic.

How many videos have you created and submitted to the video sharing networks?

Videos? I don’t even know how to record a video. Well, this is simple. Do you have a webcam? Yes. Alright, fire up your logitech and record ten videos that are about 2-4 minutes long. Do a bit of keyword research and create titles, descriptions and keyword tags for each video. Then, be sure that your keywords are included in your title and description and submit those videos to all of the video sharing sites. Then, post each of the videos you submitted to You Tube to your blog, one post a day. Be sure to write a descriptive blog post about that video and include that video’s keywords in your blog post and label them in your All In One SEO Plug in before you publish your post.

Now, go back to You Tube and edit your video description to include the link back to the relevant blog post. Now, you have web 2.0 viral video marketing in place as well as, quality, relevant content to generate more traffic and search engine listings. Pretty simple right?

Yeah, that’s real simple… I know I can do that all day long!

Master Uinque Content Generation with Conversation

You don’t have to be a great writer to develop unique content on a regular basis, how long were you reading the above text before you forgot that I was speaking to my buddy Roy? By typing a conversation as if your are talking to and asking questions of a reader and then answering those questions for them, you have a nice fluid, conversational post that is sure to be read by all of your traffic.As well, you have a site filled with unique content and the search engines will place you in the rankings of the content generation kings. The method above works extremely well for blogs, hub pages and squidoo lenses… but you can also fine tune that method to write content for your websites.

I truly do hope that this article has helped you skip past the realm of duplicate content and that you can see that anyone can beat duplicate content… as long as you can keep it original.

Behavioral Targeting : Tracking the Traffic Swarm

Not long ago, I wrote a paper and submitted it to a local university, here in Pittsburgh; about the elements of behavioral targeting of website traffic and internet user behaviors. It was well received in some circles, i.e. the marketing professionals, but was met by hefty criticism in the the reader and consumer circles.

Many believe that behavioral targeted research is an invasion of privacy.

Consumers and searchers alike do not like to feel that their every step is being monitored while they are simply entertaining themselves. The fact is, you are always being monitored.

When you do a search on Google.com, to find your favorite topic or to learn how to do something, Google’s mega servers are tracking your every move from that point on. Do you have an online email account with Aol, MSN, Yahoo, or even Google? Well, do you think they just like giving stuff away for free? No, they make money through advertising and providing their clients with up to the minute demographic market research, in order to offer the user a better experience and their clients a bigger bank account.

Where many people believe that it’s the “Big Dawgs” of the internet that are doing most of this type of research, it’s really not. When you call 411 or directory assistance on your telephone, guess what? Your usage of your phone is being documented and tracked. When a telemarketer calls your home and your answering machine picks up, that’s being tracked down to the minute.

When a human being actually picks up the phone and says “Hello?’, that’s being tracked.

When you are watching your favorite baseball game on television, your favorite drama or sitcom, or even the local news, guess what? You guessed it, it’s all being tracked.

Have you ever walked into a grocery store during the beginning of the summer months and notice that all of the charcoal, bar-b-que grills and hotdogs are all in the same area, as if they put it right in front of you? Guess what, that’s one of the oldest results of stats from behavioral targeting of consumer habits.

You really can’t get away from it.

Whether it is the time of day and what you Tweet about on Twitter.com. down to the fun and free applications that you and your friends use when you are playing Mafia Wars on FaceBook.com. it’s all being tracked and compiled into databases to give marketers and companies a better idea of what their potential buyers are looking for.

So, the next time you download an mp3, buy a book on Amazon.com or post a video to YouTube.com. know that you are being watched and the elements of behavioral targeting of your habits online are being tracked. Behavioral Targeting : Tracking the Traffic Swarm

Not long ago, I wrote a paper and submitted it to a local university, here in Pittsburgh; about the elements of behavioral targeting of website traffic and internet user behaviors. Have you ever walked into a grocery store during the beginning of the summer months and notice that all of the charcoal, bar-b-que grills and hotdogs are all in the same area, as if they put it right in front of you? Guess what, that’s one of the oldest results of stats from behavioral targeting of consumer habits.

You really can’t get away from it.
